Governance for eduroam is vested in a Global eduroam Governance Committee.
The GeGC consists of three representatives from each of five world regions who serve for two year terms.
The African region's boundaries match those of the African Regional Internet Registry (AfriNIC).
All roaming operators with territory within AfriNIC's service area form part of the African region of the GeGC.
The three African representatives to the GeGC are appointed through a process established by consensus in 2023.
